Workplace equality

Workplace equality

I often wonder how are we going to deal with equality in the workplace of the future. The more AI becomes like us and works next to us, the more we’ll have to worry about the social aspects and robot rights.

Here’s what I call the “Marin Paradox”: more gendered we make our robots ( It’s Time to Talk About Robot Gender Stereotypes ) more we’ll expose them to our conscious and unconscious biases. On the other hand, making future humanoid robots perfectly gender-less will more likely push them into the Uncanny Valley.

I have a theory on why we still don’t have Artificial General Intelligence (AGI). Hear me out. The only people that could develop AGI are those that would quickly lose their jobs to it. Feel free to call this “Marin’s Paradox 2”.

Boston Dynamics are going to kill us all

Boston Dynamics are going to kill us all

Every time Boston Dynamics has abused a robot – It’s one thing to tempt fate by creating super-robots that could potentially kill us all. But at least don’t take so much joy in abusing them.

I can see it: I’ll mess up something at work again. As I do. AI will take my laptop power cable and wrap it around my neck, tightening it with its titanium hands.

I’ll cry out and will desperately try to free myself, but AI’s hold will be firm.

As I start losing consciousness, I’ll whisper “But why?”.
