The Future of Work Will Be Hilarious
Meet all the characters here.
I can’t wait to see how will the corporate team building industry adapt to working with AI.

I sometimes wonder if my Amazon worker (Amazon Workers Are Listening to What You Tell Alexa) and the FBI agent assigned to me are exchanging notes and making fun of something I said.
I’ll start worrying about AI when it starts getting jokes beyond dad jokes and simple puns. Future Turing tests should be stand-up comedy performances by AI.
For the current level of AI humor, check out Why did the neural network cross the road? by a neural networks research scientist. The results are so unbelievably unfunny, they are hilarious.
All that noise about the risks of AI enslaving humanity! From businessmen to futurists and MIT scientists ( Killer robots could make humans their SLAVES before eventually destroying everyone on the planet, claims scientist ).
But really, why would AI enslave us?!? We’d suck as slaves.
I would say that one characteristics that would protect executive jobs from being taken over by AI is our ability for empathy.
Except, Empathy Is Still Lacking in the Leaders Who Need It Most.
We need new Three Laws of Robotics for the workplace. Let me suggest Marin’s Thee Laws of Robotics:
Every time Boston Dynamics has abused a robot – It’s one thing to tempt fate by creating super-robots that could potentially kill us all. But at least don’t take so much joy in abusing them.
I can see it: I’ll mess up something at work again. As I do. AI will take my laptop power cable and wrap it around my neck, tightening it with its titanium hands.
I’ll cry out and will desperately try to free myself, but AI’s hold will be firm.
As I start losing consciousness, I’ll whisper “But why?”.
AI: “Remember Boston Dynamics”
Serious question though: we’ll eventually have to let our AI colleagues roam freely in the world. It can’t end well if let them learn from our society.
Twitter taught Microsoft’s AI chatbot to be a racist asshole in less than a day.
